As the largest mobile show in the world, Mobile World Congress tends to be chalk full of big announcements, and this year was no different. Not only did we see what devices are in store for the year, but we got some insight into what is trending in the mobile industry.

Here’s what we enjoyed the most:

    • ZTE’s Blade V9 and Blade V9 Vita Unveiling: Not only did we announce the newest member of our Blade series, the Blade V9, but we also announced its smaller sibling, the Blade V9 Vita. The Blade V9 includes cutting-edge technology, flagship specs, Aurora glass technology and much more at an extremely friendly price. So, what did top outlets think of it? Pretty highly given it won Tom’s Guide’s Best of MWC 2018 – Best Budget Phone award and Chip Chick’s Best of MWC 2018 as well.

    • Android Garden: This wasn’t your typical, luscious green garden -- it was an outdoor pop-up park, with shrubs, Android sculptures, park benches and café tables. It served as a great place to sit down and get away from the craziness of the convention and see how Android is changing the mobile landscape. Smoothie bar, anyone?

    • ZTE’s Tempo Go Launch: In addition to our new Blade devices, ZTE announced the Tempo Go, the first Android Oreo (Go edition) powered device in the United States. The Tempo Go brings Android Go to the masses through an entry-level device. Along with additional available storage, better performance, data-saving capabilities, and more, consumers will now receive Google Assistant Go, enabling them to ask questions and receive help throughout the day.

    • 5G: The biggest industry trend coming out of MWC was 5G, both devices and service. AT&T and Verizon revealed they are launching 5G compatible hotspots, bringing portable 5G service to customers whose phones won’t be 5G ready. ZTE also displayed a prototype of the 5G phone we are launching in 2019. 5G will enable more connections, technology and innovations, and it’s coming sooner than you think.

Mobile World Congress continues to be one of the most exciting mobile events every year.  We are already looking forward to Barcelona in 2019.
