ZTE USA, the fourth largest smartphone supplier in the U.S. and second largest in the no-contract market,* today announced that following the widespread damage caused by flooding in West Virginia last week, it will match donations pledged by professional golfer Danny Lee to The Greenbrier’s Neighbors Loving Neighbors campaign in the amount of $8,500.
“We are very proud to partner with Danny and give back to the people of West Virginia, especially those in Greenbrier County who were greatly impacted by the floods,” said Lixin Cheng, chairman and CEO of ZTE USA. “We are committed to giving back to local communities across the country, and commend Danny on using his platform to support those in need.”
Danny Lee, brand ambassador for ZTE’s flagship device, AXON 7, pledged to donate $500 for every birdie and $1,000 for every eagle he made at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open. Carding 17 birdies and no eagles on his way to a second place finish, the Danny Lee Foundation donated $8,500 to The Greenbrier, home to his first PGA Tour victory.
“I appreciate ZTE matching my donation to help the people at Greenbrier,” said professional golfer, Danny Lee. “I am happy we are able to make a contribution and hope it can make a difference. I look forward to returning to The Greenbrier Classic next year!”
